New SketchUp & V-Ray Course for Interior Designers!

WE PROMISED YOU THAT WE’D LAUNCH A SKETCHUP AND V-RAY COURSE, WHERE WE TEACH YOU HOW TO PRODUCE A HIGH QUALITY, PHOTOREAL RENDER…AND WE’RE ABOUT TO DELIVER ON THAT PROMISE.

I’ve personally been working on this living room render for much longer than I care to admit but I’m so happy that I delayed the new rendering course, until I was 100% happy with the design. There are still a few tweaks required, so the final render you create might not be exactly the same as the image above but it will be VERY close!

I wanted to create an interior that incorporated both classical and contemporary design with bespoke cabinetry. I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from Sophie Paterson (yes, really!) with this design scheme especially with her trademark of using textured wall coverings at the back of shelved areas.

It was important to me that I included prints and fabrics that many of you will already be familiar with, and which you’ll more than likely be using in your own designs and 3D models going forward, after you have taken my new SketchUp rendering course. This was partly to show you how simple it is to use real life textures, fabrics and patterns when constructing interiors using SketchUp and then producing a photoreal render of the same scene.

The new rendering course will focus on getting you up and running quickly, so that you can produce high quality SketchUp and V-Ray renders without compromising on quality.

I will be sharing tips, tricks and hacks that I’ve learned as a result of working professionally as a 3D Visualiser for 10 years, from 3D modelling fundamentals, the secret to creating impactful 3D scenes, to my post processing techniques in Photoshop to produce awe-inspiring, polished and incredibly high quality photoreal renders.

I’ll also be taking the opportunity to show you how to produce impressive renders using SketchUp’s new Ambient Occlusion feature. Whilst this style of render is considered non-photoreal, it’s still very effective at conveying all the various design elements of an Interior Designer’s vision for a space and is an excellent time-saver.

I’ll be posting another blog soon, where I provide more information on the new SketchUp and V-Ray course, including the hardware and software that you’ll need, and the specific licenses available to you as a professional and student. Got a question about the new course? Leave a comment below!
